HOW WE WORK

Floor Prepartion & Restoration

A finished product is only as good as the surface preparation that performed prior to installation. BECA is highly skilled at solving challenging subfloor issues by using state-of-the-art products with our highly skilled workforce.

Self-Leveling Underlayments

An uneven or rough subfloor will ruin the look of any floor installation. BECA has the ability to bring almost any subfloor to a condition where it can receive even the most finicky flooring material.

We offer a variety of self-leveling underlayments, both cement-based and synthetic, that can be poured over a range of substrates including concrete, well bonded tile & terrazzo, mortar residue, gypcrete, and even carpet. Typically poured at a depth of 1/8” to ½”, these underlayments can go as deep as 3- to 5-inches and create a perfect surface for new flooring installation.

Slab Moisture Mitigation

Today’s fast-track construction methods along with modern concrete formulations can create slab moisture emission issues that are incompatible with many flooring products. Virtually all flooring manufacturers now require slab moisture content and evaporation testing prior to installation.

BECA offers a variety of solutions for out-of-spec slabs that bring moisture emission down to levels required for a successful, fully-warranted project.

Specialized Installation

Sometimes replacing flooring in an occupied space requires dealing with difficult & challenging furniture systems. BECA has innovative processes for many special situations.

Workstation (“Cubicle”) Lifting

When considering a carpet change in an occupied office setting that utilizes furniture cubicles, many people balk at the thought of removing the phones and computers, disassembling the furniture, storing it during the process, and putting everything back together afterwards. And that’s not to mention the lost productivity.

BECA provides a solution with our tried-and-ture system of gently lifting the furniture in place. Phones and computers stay connected and no furniture is disassembled. All work happens during off hours. Your workers come in the next morning to find new carpet under their workstations and everything in place. Zero productivity loss, zero headaches.

Library Lift

BECA’s unique library lift system allows us to lift and move fully loaded library shelves. Compatible with most commercial shelving manufacturers’ products, the system secures the items to the shelf, reinforces it, and lifts the unit an inch or so off the floor. The loaded shelves are then rolled out of the area creating an open space for the flooring change. Work is performed during off hours so access to the facility is kept open for patrons and workers.

Computerized Estimating

BECA has continuously invested in technology to increase our productivity and accuracy.

Part of that is our industry-specific estimating software. After importing drawings into the system, we can overlay any number of different flooring products onto the digital drawing on the screen. This creates an extremely accurate estimate of the material quantities required for the project.

Curious about the cost difference between two or more material options or layout scenarios? With just a few clicks of the mouse we can change materials, seam locations, patterns, direction, and more.
